Rob has always loved doing lettering. Even as a kid, he was always trying to copy logos for pro sports teams. Football and Hockey logos were his favorites to try to duplicate.
That's why when the NHL came to him for help with a wordmark for the Minnesota Wild, he was more than excited. The first year the Wild was on the ice, his logo appeared proudly on the front of their jerseys.
They still use the image, but it was replaced as the main team logo due to legal issues. But the opportunity to do the work was a thrill for Rob.

Occasionally, Rob takes a break from making fonts, and just tries to do something fun. Have you ever seen an Ambigram?
Here are few things Rob has done over the years you may recognize.
"Now, I focus on making fonts from my hand lettering. Sometimes I work straight from the computer. But when I'm designing a font that has a more hand lettered look, I simply do the work on the boards first and scan the images into my computer for completion."
